D.C. and Paris Come Together at This Chic New Restaurant

Channeling the magnetic energy of Dupont Circle and the charm of Georgetown with the cozy feeling of a Parisian bistro, Ellington Park Bistro is The St. Gregory Hotel’s chic new restaurant.

Ellington Park Bistro is bringing French flavors and inspirations to The St. Gregory in the form of three-course meals. Building off the atmosphere at the hotel and then bringing influences from the world of Parisian restaurants, this new bistro is stirring up quite the buzz.

THE CHEF

Ellington Park Bistro is led by veteran DC chef Frank Morales. A fixture in DC’s dining scene, Morales was part of the successful teams at Rustico Bar and Restaurant, Zola, and Oval Room (now La Bise), a downtown power spot.

He got his start at NYC’s legendary Le Cirque, and Ellington Park Bistro marks his long-awaited comeback to French cuisine.

THE FOOD

Ellington Park Bistro is committed to the contemporary French mission to serve diners delicious options for quick bites, and full, three-course meals.

For those who are looking to taste the best seafood in the area, there is a raw bar selection featuring fresh local catches. And when you dine at the bistro, the Chef’s daily specials will bring your experience an extra sense of originality, quality, and imagination with a classic French foundation.

In a recent review in The Washington Post, food critic Tom Sietsema says, “You want to time your visits to explore Tuesday’s duck confit and Friday’s bouillabaisse, among the restaurant’s plats du jour. I most look forward to Thursday and the opportunity to experience flounder stuffed with shellfish mousseline, soft as meringue and lit with harissa.”

To wash it down, you’ll be able to choose from a list of creative cocktails, and an extensive selection of high-end wines.

THE INSPO

Ellington Park Bistro is inspired both by Paris’s iconic neighborhood bistros, and its namesake — Duke Ellington Park, which is right across the street. The blend of these two worlds will create an atmosphere that’s rich with classic, stately style accented by rich, delicious dishes.

THE SPACE

The bistro serves daily breakfast and dinner as well as weekend brunch with bottomless spritzes. The dining room is quaint, with tasteful notes of luxury throughout. In addition to this stunning bar, guests can also have their meals and drinks in one of many cozy, lush emerald velvet booths.

STYLE & AMBIANCE

The bistro is designed to reflect the famous jazz clubs that have helped Washington, DC’s rich musical history. While showing tribute to the musicians who laid the foundation, the space will also host contemporary musical acts to bring the romance of live music to this versatile restaurant.
