Water, Wind, and Waves: Marine Paintings from the Dutch Golden Age Opens at the National Gallery

The Dutch empire spanned the globe in the 17th Century, and the tiny European nation became a world leader in marine travel and commerce, with fleets of ships traversing oceans and fishing boats plying inland waterways. The Color Purple At The Kennedy Center
