Prepare to be blown away by the Washington National Opera’s rendition of Wagner’s classic Ring Cycle, a four-part Nordic epic that took the composer over twenty-six years to finish. The story starts with Das Rheingold, where the dwarf Alberich schemes to steal a ring that will grant the owner unlimited power, leading to a showdown between the Norse gods and giants. While adults will appreciate the immense scale of the production and the dramatic themes it explores, kids will be taken in by the mythology and intrigue of the tale. With a production five years in the making and set design by Tony-winner Michael Yeargan, this is one show guaranteed to be a resonate with the whole family.
