The Last Ship is a stage production inspired by the 1991 album The Soul Cages by musical icon Sting. The stories are inspired by the musician’s own childhood, and they follow a community ravaged by the falling of their local shipbuilding industry. Sting will perform in the production as shipyard foreman Jackie White, and the show will feature an original score with original lyrics by him as well. If that weren’t enough, the production will feature original Sting tracks like “When We Dance,” “All This Time,” and “Island of Souls.”
