Pulling from the National Portrait Gallery’s large collection of self-portraits from acclaimed artists around the world, this exhibition looks at the strange challenging form. The artists featured have approached self-portraiture at different times throughout history, using different tools, providing a unique landscape to reflect on what it means to see one’s self. A philosophically-heavy concept, the range of artwork that will be on display with this new collection will be absolutely fascinating. It must be, since the Smithsonian has committed to showing it for nearly a year after its opening.
