The National Cherry Blossom Festival is one of the most well known and colorful annual events in Washington, DC. The widespread celebration commemorates the city’s astounding collection of cherry blossom trees, which was originally gifted by the government of Japan in the early 1900’s. Today, the trees and the festival represent a kinship between the two nations. Between all of the events spread across the twenty-two day festival, attendees can enjoy live dance performances, the Blossom Kite Festival, and a parade.
