Everyone knows DC is a one-of-its-kind destination for history, museums, and culture, but, even after years of good press (Bon Appetit’s “Restaurant City of The Year”, Zagat’s “Hottest Food City,” et al), fewer visitors realize just how unique our dining scene is too. One of the best ways to sample as many of the restaurants that helped build this reputation as possible, is to come out during Metropolitan Washington Restaurant Week.
How It Works
DC Restaurant Week is the time to splurge and eat out as much as possible. Over 250 of the city’s best restaurants offer up discounted three-course brunches, lunches, and dinners during the event. The lunches and brunches are priced at $22 each, while dinners are $35. At many of these world-class restaurants, these prices are an absolute steal.
During the 2018 Summer Restaurant Week in Washington, DC, a number of the region’s newest and most acclaimed restaurants took part. Famous DC restaurateur Jose Andres had a number of spots participating, including his America Eats Tavern, which serves up brilliant New American and classic dishes in a rustic Georgetown dining room. For those looking to explore the international flavor of the city, another participating restaurant named Mi Vida offers up excellent fish tacos, guacamole, and other Mexican-inspired dishes. You can also find excellent Japanese food during DC restaurant week at Rhode Island Avenue Momo Yakitori, or the super famous Nobu’s DC outpost.
