Bloomingdale Farmers Market
If you’re really serious about your locavore habits, you’ll love this weekly Bloomingdale market. Vendors here are required to be local, meaning that the produce is basically guaranteed to be fresh from the farm. Head here on a weekend to find dairy products like cheese, in addition to eggs, and fruits and vegetables.

This picturesque flea market near Capitol Hill is one of our favorite spots to spend a weekend afternoon. You can browse through stalls featuring art and wares by local craftsmen, including gorgeous handmade jewelry and furniture. This is the perfect place to pick up souvenirs for friends and family at home!

Head to this farmers’ market if you’re in the mood to visit a new neighborhood along with stocking up on freshly grown fruits and veggies. Vendors set up here on Saturday mornings with delicious farm-to-table produce from the areas nearby, so we recommend grabbing an early brunch before paying a visit.

14th and U Farmer’s Market
This popular Saturday market, located right in the middle of the U Street nightlife district, is the perfect place to spend a sunny afternoon stocking up for a big meal. You can pick up flowers, handmade goat cheese, and ready-made pies when you stop by here.

Capital Harvest on the Plaza
Located just off the Mall, this farmers’ market is the perfect place to go to stock up on fresh fruits and veggies before a picnic near the Monuments. Bring a basket and blanket with you so you’ll be ready to put together a quick meal of cheese and fresh bread from the vendors here. The market also brings in vendors with handmade arts and and crafts for some added variety.
