National Cherry Blossom Festival

Spring doesn’t truly arrive in Washington DC until the National Cherry Blossom Festival is underway. This brilliant annual superbloom spreads the distinctively delicate and fragrant blossoms all over the city thanks to its large number of cherry trees, many of which were a gift from the Japanese government. The Festival commemorates this special time with a wide variety experiences across the metro.

Passport DC

Beethoven’s Best Works

St. Francis Hall in Angel Park will be hosting “Beethoven’s Best Works” on May 5th. Attendees are invited to listen to the most famous works of the celebrated composer in a safe, socially distanced, and open0air environment bathed in candlelight. Tickets are available here.

Smithsonian Folklife Festival

First held in 1967, the Smithsonian’s Folklife Festival represents an incomparable educational opportunity. Musicians, artists, craftspeople and other creators convene on the city to offer a living international exposition celebrating cultural heritage. The event is held on the National Mall for two weeks each summer. The 2021 event will incorporate mostly virtual events in order to comply with ongoing CDC safety guidelines.
