Washington DC’s esteemed National Symphony Orchestra will come together this holiday season to perform the beloved Handel oratorio The Messiah. The scriptural text is largely taken from the King James Bible, as well as the version of the Psalms that’s in the Book of Common Prayer. Set to breathtaking music from Handel—you’ll recognize the beautiful “For Unto Us a Child is Given” and the iconic “Hallelujah” chorus—delivered from high-quality voices, this piece has stood the test of time. The performance will come from the wonderful chorus and singers from the NSO, and its conductor Nicholas McGegan.
