How to Enjoy Summer in DC

Summer is coming, which means that prospective travelers need to get their itineraries set up. Walk Or Bike The Mall

One of DC’s greatest greatest attractions is The National Mall, where a row of monuments and memorials epitomizes the iconic political history of this city. When it’s summertime, and the sun is out, take advantage of the weather by taking to the mall for a day of walking or bike riding. You can find shade at The Lincoln Memorial, free air-conditioning at the National Air & Space Museum, and a hot dog on just about any corner.

Take In A Ballgame

One of Washington, DC’s favorite summer spectacles are the perpetually-contending Washington Nationals baseball team. Nationals Park is a gorgeous, open-air venue that offers an exciting place for locals to spend a sunny summer afternoon, or warm evening. All-stars like Bryce Harper and Stephen Strasburg lead a stellar cast of performers that provide exciting games night after night.

Head Out To The Water

The Potomac River is a staple of Washington, DC and enjoyable in many ways. For a nice walk along the shore, with an excellent selection of restaurants, check out the Georgetown Waterfront. For those of you who enjoy going out on the water, you can find exciting daily cruises with the Potomac Riverboat Company.
