Dinner and drinks are always fun, but sometimes you want nothing more than to kick up your heels and dance with a big group of friends. Here are our favorite places to go dancing in DC.
Two-story U Street megaplex Town, one of the city’s best spots for LGBT nightlife, is one of DC’s top dance clubs. Each section of the club plays different tunes, typically a mix of early 2000s and current chart-toppers. The club also regularly hosts events like drag show and waltz dances that lure in the crowds.

Hipsters in search of eclectic dance tunes will love hanging out at U Street’s divey DC9. The DJ here plays plenty of indie tunes that’ll draw in the Pitchfork readers and those in search of a good time alike.

Located in Dupont Circle, a five-minute stroll from the St. Gregory, this uber-hip party spot features rustic brick walls paired with dark leather booths and bright pops of orange furniture. Head over here for a night of EDM tunes and dancing.

Ultra-luxurious Heist is located a short walk from the St. Gregory Hotel and is the top spot in town for a night of celebration. The underground bar has a bank theft theme, which adds to the sense of lavishness you’ll have here. Splurge on a glass of Cristal from the bar and raise your drink as you dance.

To enter this Shaw nightclub, you’ll need to walk through a photobooth. So make sure you’re looking your best and ready to flash your pearly whites when you walk in. Besides the mandatory photo op, this cool, brick-walled spot also invites plenty of established DJ to spin tunes throughout the week, so you’ll get to enjoy the music in addition to your pictures.
